Okay Ladies! It is here at last – the Retiral List! Now what this means is this list contains all the items that are leaving the SU catalogue – FOR GOOD!  Yes, that means that this is your LAST CHANCE TO BUY these items – EVER! So get them while you can….How do you get them?  Well compile your wish list, email it to me with your telephone number and I will call you up and get your card details (I don’t keep these, they go straight to SU) and we all sit back and wait for the goodies to arrive.  But remember – these are all on first come first served basis and some of the more popular items will go off sale pretty quickly. Don’t be disappointed, email me once you have got your list together.  HERE IS THE LAST CHANCE LIST (simply click on the list below then on the link on the next page – a PDF list will open. You can also download a copy of the 2010/2011 catalogue by clicking the link on the right hand side there) :

Don’t forget to email me your wish list and telephone number and start stamping your place in the world! xxx

It may be winter outside….Did you see that girl?….. Tornado’s…

It is soooo cold here right now and my thoughts turn to Christmas and winter when it gets cold – I love most seasons actually, I think there is something redeemable in each of them! Except perhaps 13 degree’s in  the middle of what isn supposed to be summer! HeyHo! Here’s what I was inspired to:

Lovely as a Tree

This card is made with glossy card stock, stamped and mirror imaged with Lovely as a Tree stamp set then brayered with Bashfull Blue, Not Quite Navy, Night of Navy and Stazon Black ink.  It is finished with a soft sprinkle of Dazzling Diamonds.  I think I mentioned my current love affair with my distressing kit….well here is another card which got the distressing treatment:

Welcome Christmas

This is Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla card stock, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Old Tea ink, French Foliage and Welcome Christmas stamp sets.  I also finished it inside too!

Welcome Christmas

I am loving French Foliage – I cannot get it off my desk and back on the shelf and if I do I simply get it back off again!

So my friend Jen has secured a crafting tenancy at the local Hobbycraft store and I went along today briefly to give her some moral support and get her a coffee! When I got there her station had a handful of folk round and about and she was showing the beautiful Dasher reindeer stamp set on a hill with the moon in the background and naturally some christmas frosting round and about! Simply gorgeous! I might just be pinching…sorry CASEing that idea for my Stamp a Stack class in November.  Did I mention the Stamp a Stack class in November? Look out for more details coming very soon!

As hurricane Irene wends it’s destructive way along the America’s and then one to us next week, I thought I would take this moment to mention the Technique Tornado Days coming up in September. We will be covering approximately 6/8 techniques in each class which will last all day, (all day? I hear you ask. Well Yes! There is loads to get through and some of the techniques involve getting messy! so bring your apron and old clothes!). There are more details on this page but we will also begin the climb towards getting our Christmas cards done and I will show you some quick and simple cards to get you off to a racing start. As always I will provide class packs but please bring a basic kit with you although I do usual have most things.  Not booked your place yet? Well you seriously need to hurry! I have five places left on Saturday 3rd September and four places left on 17th September. Drop me an email, send me a text, get your payment made on Paypal using the button in the top right hand corner but what ever you do DON’T DELAY, book your place today.

I have to tell you that on September 3rd we are also holding a Retiral Party at the Campanile Hotel from 1.30 – 4 ish. This is to celebrate the retirement of items from our 2010/2011 catalogue. We will have Make and Takes and demonstrations to show you as well as being able to take your orders for items on the Last Chance List.  I am so excited as this means that lots of new goodies will be coming our way in the new Catalogue out in October. You can place an order for your copy from 1st September for £4.95 and it will be available for you to start looking through from 1st October!  Use the button at the top to book your ticket – it’s only £3 and we have limited space for this event.

And finally, I keep mentioning my now much loved distressing kit so whilst I was supposed to be doing other things I managed to make this card which I am so proud of. It is a CASE from a very talented girl out in Australia who is making great waves with her amazing style and ideas over here: the one and only Teneale Williams!

Artistic Etchings

This is a CASE of her card which you can view here.  As you know I am heading to SU convention in November here we will make swaps to share with other convention goers of our ideas etc. I am still looking for my swaps design and thought I might have found it with this but changed my mind as I couldn’t get the ribbon in black and white but as a narrower version although I am playing with an idea but I will keep you posted on that! In the mean time enjoy this and remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

A cheeky wee post…Technique Tornado Day…Stampin’ Up Retirement Party!

So this is a quickie to say thank you to all my ladies who have returned to class this week – THANK YOU! it is, as always, a delight to se you all and chat with you! And whats more, I think I have some brilliant techniques to lead you through – I think we will have a blast! Of course our classes would not be complete without homework! and this is this weeks:

Four Frames Triangle

This is a very simple triangular box with base and the homework is to finish it up! I used my favourite tools right – my distressing set! I am so loving this right now and coupled with the French Foliage stamp set – well I can’t get these two items off my desk!  I can’t wait to see what the girls make of them – I love to see how they all work so differently.

Technique Tornado Days! Yippee – so what are they exactly? and where more importantly!

These are being held on Saturday 3rd September and Saturday 17th September and will be from 10.00 am until 5.00pm at  The Campanile Hotel, Braehead near the new Dobies Garden Centre, and don’t forget they offer a free bus from Braehead bus station!

  • We will cover a minimum of five/six new techniques on each of the two days (both days different! I don’t want to give too much away!)
  • You will need to bring aprons (we are going to get a little messy!) and a basic kit of scissors, favourite adhesive, bone folder, pair of tweezers, pokey tool (if you have one) and anything else you like to work with.
  • The cost is only £25 for the day and you will make at least six cards plus 3d items.

We are working together to maximise your crafting time which is why both events are the same day at the same venue!

Again you do have to book – places cost £3 and again there will be make and takes and a last chance to ‘play’ with items which will no longer be available but will be offered at Retiral List prices.  These will be Last Chance items, after 30th September they will not be offered for sale again! Look forward to seeing you there!

Be back soon with this weeks challenge but while you wait don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx

And we are off…..Date for your diary…PARTY PARTY PARTY ….and finally moved!

So we started our classes back up today – We are at the Campanile Hotel near Braehead and do you know what? They provide a FREE bus service between Braehead bus station and the hotel and back again!  How cool is that?  I was amazed by that – you don’t get something for nothing these days but apparently you CAN get a free bus service!

It was so lovely to see the girls again for our class. Thank you Tracey for the chocolate – you are a star as always! We had fun with today’s techniques – both resist techniques, one with masking fluid and one with wax crayon – everyone was reminiscing about school after smelling the masking fluid which was really strange – it has a funny kind of fishy glue smell which I suppose is exactly what the glue smelt like when we were at school! anyway – it was fun and brought back memories too! Here’s what we made:

Baroque Motifs - Resist Technique

This was the card made with masking fluid- the girls were a lot more artistic with their application of fluid  than me!

Penny Black Rose Heart

This lovely rose card was the one we used the wax crayon technique on – scratching off the wax where we wanted highlights to show through .

So on 3rd September we will be  holding our RETIRAL LIST party!  Yippee! this is to celebrate and say good bye to items that are leaving the Stamping Up catalogue FOR GOOD!  The party is from 1.30 – 3.30 ish at the Campanile hotel and costs £3.00. We will be doing make and takes and generally having a crafting good time! Yes I will be putting a PayPal button up in the next couple of days so you can pay before you arrive and beat the rush!  Remember to add your postal address so I can get your ticket out to you!

This next card is my offering for our Tartan Stampers challenge – the challenge was to use double embossing. The card is made using whisper white and Pear Pizazz card stock, Pear Pizazz ink, pearls, Sizzix Embossing folder, border punch and the Flight of the Butterfly and Just Believe stamp sets.

Just Believe

This final card is the one I have  made for my dad to send out to people to let them know where he has moved to. It is a single layer card and took minutes to make – I think it has turned out pretty well!

Moving House

I printed up inserts to save him writing all the details out a dozen times! I think he is nearly unpacked – we had a trip to Ikea yesterday to get another chest of drawers for his things and he has decided he wants a new computer now as well so another shopping trip on the horizon!

Okay – I think that is it for now – Don’t forget the classes – we still have a some spaces and you would be more than welcome! Pop me an email over for more details. So until next time don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx

It’s Getting Hot in Here….Moving House….

Okay Ladies, so have you booked your place at Simply Stamping class yet? things are a slightly different this time around as we are at a different venue and will be taking our techniques a few steps further.  Not booked in? don’t wait around as we don’t have as many class places as last time and it would be a shame to miss out.

Sooooo! I did say it’s getting hot in here but actually I think it’s getting cooler (it’s definitely wetter! has it stopped raining here for long?) and when it gets cooler my thoughts most definitely turn towards Christmas Cards – so here’s one I made earlier!

Christmas Trees

I love this card – It appeals to my sense of simple! We have Pacific Point, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock. The whisper white is stamped with Lovely as a Tree stamp set, the run through the Sizzix Bigz Top Note die cutter before being brayered with Pacific Point. I then used a White pen to outline the top and copious amounts of glitter for the Trees. A couple of rhinestones at each corner finished it off.

Contempo Christmas

Another very simple card if you have a stack to make (Hint, Hint!) This is Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Jolly Holiday DSP, Contempo Christmas stamp set, Oval punch, and the decorative label punch and finished with some pearls.

Contempo Christmas

Do they get any simpler than this?  Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Jolly Holiday DSP, Contempo Christmas stamp set, Oval punch, and the decorative label punch and finished with rhinestones – does that have a familiar ring to it?

So Friday will see my dad coming to live with us. I know I have mentioned before about this – we went down to see him this last weekend and help him finish up his packing. The removal men arrive tomorrow to start taking some of his things into storage – pending us selling our house for something a touch bigger to accommodate him and potentially give him a sitting room as well as a bedroom. He lived with my Mum in that house for 33 years and then another two on his own so it’s a big step for him to move away. we are al  looking forward to him coming to bee with us as it means we know he won’t be on his own for another winter and it also means there is someone in the house for my youngest when he gets in from school which is some thing he has found particularly difficult. These times, they are a changing’.

While I was down at my Dad’s I headed on in to see my friend Tracey at Running with Scissors. I participate in her ATC swap group. All I have to do is create six ATC’s and then send five of them out to her. In return I get five back that have been made by other ladies int he ATC group. What are ATC’s? they are a 3 1/2′ x 2 1/2′ representation of your talent! Tracey sets a theme and we work to that theme. Last month the colour was yellow and the theme was circles this month it is black and white and ‘dreams’. Fancy having a go? thought you might – head on over to  Tracey’s blog HERE and get yourself signed in. Its great fun, I feel sure that you will enjoy taking part – the best bit is waiting for your ATC’s to arrive in the post!

Finally a quick reminder of the details for the classes – If you haven’t yet booked and still want a place – head onus to the top of the blog and there on the right hand side you will see the PayPal button, go ahead and press it and pay for your class.

Butterflies….Did I tell you about the time when…..

So, because I feel like I have been MIA lately, I thought I maybe owed you a few posts, so thought I would post quite quickly. Today has been my day off and I have been at home all day with my youngest son who managed to survive “School Uniform Day” on sunday. Not sure how but he did! School uniform is now bought and awaiting name labels. We have spent the day just hanging out together and generally just chatting – I know we all love our children but I love spending time with mine individually too! they are both great conversationalists and we get some really good chat going. Together they are a night mare! Lets not go there! So I made a couple of cards for you today and it was only after I had done that I realised they both included butterflies. My head was more into the colour schemes.

Always Elegant Butterfly's

This card is made with the Always Elegant, Because I Care and my very new stamp set, Perfect Punches! Card Stock is Basic Black, Whisper White and Poppy Red, with Riding Hood red ink. Whisper White satin ribbon and pearls to finish. Oh and the butterfly was cut using my Bigx Beautiful Butterflies and stamped in Whisper White.

Did I tell you about the time that my youngest got locked in the loo on holiday? No? Well it was our last day and we weren’t due to leave till after twelve thirty so we spent the morning round the pool. The hotel had a complimentary changing room including beautiful shower facilities. Just before twelve we all trouped off to get changed including my youngest. A little after quarter past three of us were waiting with our suitcases. No sight of the young one at all. I sent the older boy to look for him thinking he would be doing his usual teenage thing: one arm propping up the wall letting the water wash over him until someone shouts and tells him he has been in the shower long enough or the water runs cold which ever event happens first!  Anyway the eldest boy returned laughing loudly. It turned out my young son had managed to get locked in the changing room, the handle having come away in his hand as he was about to leave. When I trudged to reception the receptionist couldn’t under-stand what I was trying to explain. The travel rep then came over and gave it a go. I thought she would speak in the local language but no, she just spoke louder than me!  I walked away amazed and just in time to see this guy with a terribly laid back stroll head towards to changing rooms, screw driver in hand. Not too long after my youngest boy returned to me rapidly, sweat and tears rolling down his poor terrified face. He knew we were due to leave soon and was terrified we would leave without him. Poor lad was beside himself. We would never leave him but in his panic he couldn’t rationalise that to himself.  It would be tragic if if wasn’t so funny and I have to confess we did laugh about it. Why? no, not because we are mean but because bizarrely this is only the second time my youngest has managed to get locked in the loo: the last two holidays equal two loo lock ins! We have told him not to go on his own in future!

My final card for you today features my favourite stamp set Strength and Hope. Purchasing this stamp set generates a donation to Breast Cancer research – so a fantastic cause to support. You can still buy this stamp set  by contacting me but only for a limited time, it goes off sale at the end of september. Don’t wait for yours, contact me now.

Strength and Hope

I have used Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White card stock, Regal Rose DSP in stripes, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink ink pads, Eyelet border punch, Whisper White organza ribbon, strength and Hope and Clearly for you stamp sets and pearls to finish with. Oh and I also used my paper piercer to make the stitch line.

Okay. Back to work tomorrow. I will try and post again before the weekend, just remember you can get the wonderful freebie mentioned in the previous post, but until next time, don’t forget to stamp your place in the
