10 Weeks of Sale-a-Bration….What the girls did next….a quick make(!)….an honour……and where do they get their ideas from….?

View the Sale-a-bration Freebies HERE!
Welcome to WEEK 1 of Sale-a-Bration – its such an exciting time and the products are so beautiful – I am having trouble deciding which items is my favourite. Over the next ten weeks I am going to feature cards and projects using the Sale-a-Bration items to help you chose which is your favourite….I think mine it has to be Fresh vintage at the moment although I do love the Everyday Enchantment papers too…so here is a full view of that sneak peak I gave you a couple of weeks ago….

Fresh Vintage, Everyday Enchantment

This is a delightful stamp that will lend itself to many different occasions.  Later in the week I will show you a note book cover we made at Group training in Aberdeen using this stamp set and of course the Everyday Enchantment papers too!  Just to be clear about how fantastic an offer this is remember that for EVERY £45 you spend, you get a free Sale – a – Bration item. It is not limited…so if you love that paper get your orders in and stock pile it….I know I will be doing!

So what this girls did next…you may remember last week we resumed our Tuesday Classes focusing on clean and simple and actual layouts rather than just poplin stuff onto our cards.  The girls home work was to choose a layout and copy it at home….heres how they did (I am so proud! they did amazingly!)

Lovely Lilacs
Autumn Leaves
Vibrant blues and Corals
Embossed Flowers
Frilly Edges
Silver Stars
A Wedding Invitation

Aren’t they all just amazing?  This week we revisited water colour paper and different ways to apply colour but also using the same stamp in different ways. It was loads of fun and the girls really embraced getting their fingers into the inks!

A little something I made….

Garden Bag for Swaps

I am so pleased with the way this bag turned out – I would love to say it was all my own idea but sadly it wasn’t! I got the pattern from a lady called Lynn Pratt who has some amazing 3d projects I am hoping to have a go it over the next few weeks and you can view her website here – Thank you Lynn – I love this!

A couple of nights ago, when checking my emails I noticed one from a pal of mine – Susan, now this was unusual in that we don’t often email each other – we tend to text! I was thrilled and delighted when I read it because wh had awarded me an honour – a nagging one but an honour none the less! And the Award is………..

The idea of the Liebster Blog Award is to spread the love from one small blog (under 200 followers) to other small blogs. This helps to spread knowledge and readership
Liebster” in German means “dearest”, so as part of the Liebster award tradition, I am going to pass this award to 5 blogs that I value, and that have both inspired and motivated me.

To accept the award, you must:

1) Link back to the person who gave it and thank them for thinking of you.
2) Post the award to your blog.
3) Give the award to 5 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value.
4) Leave a comment on the blogs of the five people you have chosen to let them know.

So here is the link back to Susan – check her out she does some amazing colouring in with Copics and pencils etc…Here.

So these are the 5 I would like to pass the award to:-

In no particular order….

1. Jo Dumbleton (in fairness not strictly less than 200 followers) Jo is inspirational and designs some beautiful projects. I met her for the first time in Paris but had been stalking her for a little while – she is lovely, approachable and thoroughly nice to boot!

2. Margaret Ann Moffatt – Margaret Ann is one of the kindest people I have met. Recently she went out of her way to come to my work to let me borrow a stamp set to finish my swaps for Aberdeen and she doe ant even have a car! In addition to that she then sat up till all hours showing Liz and myself how to make the most amazing mini albums  – truly wonderful! Margaret Ann get more pics on your blog because I have seen your stuff and it should be published!

3. Liz Archer – I got to know Liz a little better this last weekend going to Aberdeen and sharing a room with her – how better to get to know someone! I am grateful that she could put up with my hairy legs – lack of time before we went – and I think she is grateful I don’t snore….much! But head over to Liz’s blog – she makes some delightful crisp and clean designs – I did steal her Christmas Owl design for one of my demo’s – so thank you Liz!

4. Fiona Duthie – Fiona is something of a celebrity and has designed for U Stamp with Dawn and Friends.  Her work is so clean and precise – I am in awe of everything she does. Check her out and you too will be stunned by her amazing designs – my favourite to date is definitely the Christmas wreath…or maybe the butterfly picture..actually she did another one recently too….Oh! Dear they are all amazing!  Oh! Just spotted your Valentines wreath…now where’s my paper and score board….

And finally…

5. Sharon Sim – Sharon gave me a brief tour of her bloodspot at the weekend and I was blown away by the superb things she has made – I am not much of a scrapbooker (I dabble) but Sharon has stunning pages that she has made – go check her out!.

So that is the Award Ceremony for this year….

And finally…I got a telephone call from my eldest son at the weekend which left me wondering why it is that we have spent thousands of pounds on his education…often his lack of common sense leaves me speechless! He rang to say that his leg smelt. At first very little further information was forthcoming and it took a little digging before I found out that no…it didn’t smell because he hadn’t washed after rugby properly, no it didn’t smell because it had lineament on it and no, it didn’t smell for any good reason. It smelt because he had somehow managed to cut it quite badly whilst skiing, it had further been rubbed inside his ski boots, he had put a plaster on it but it appears the said plaster only helped it to fester (never thought to take plaster off before showering!) so now his leg smelt. What should he do? He had a Doctors appointment for later the following week. I pointed out that his leg could be gangrenous by then and he should take himself off the A&E to get it looked at. HE wavered. I was shocked because to me if it is that bad there would be no hesitancy to have it looked at by a professional…but thats me! Then I realised – he’s a student and would be going out that night and going to A&E might interfere with that.  A very pointed discussion took place – as you might imagine and he eventually text me back to say his leg had been cleaned out thoroughly and he was now on strong antibiotics which would preclude him from drinking alcohol! as a result he’s now coming home at the weekend…no point being a student and not being able to drink now is there?

Until next time…remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

A Brand New Venue….Back to Class….and Training Days!

It is with Great Pleasure that I announce Stampdelicious is going to Table Table!  What does that mean? I hear you ask?  Well it means that we have a brand new venue to try out for our StampCamps and Technique Tornado Days!  and whats more it is an easily accessible location – just off the M8 at Phoenix Park, Linwood. It has great and close parking. AND they serve amazing food!   After some discussion we have managed to secure ‘space’ at Table Table in their back area – which is absolutely lovely with bespoke little alcoves which offer amazing privacy!  I can’t wait as I think this will be a great venue for us and whats more if we want our lunch their it is reasonably priced scrumptious food!   The full address is: Phoenix Park, Phoenix Retail Park, Paisley, PA1 2BH – and yes it is right next to the Premier Inn there!

Our Next class – Spring Stamp a Stack – Saturday 28th January 2011  WILL BE HELD HERE!

It is not too late to join me for this class – The new venue allows us a little more space and I can possible accommodate another three people if you want to come along. Drop me an email and book your place!

Our Tuesday classes have resumed and it was – as always, delightful to see the girls again after our break for the holidays.  So what did they make this week?  Oh well, we are moving towards looking at layouts this week so we had some simple cards but we made four of them and I must thank Jo Dumbleton for the inspiration here – the class cards were CASEd directly from her class. Jo’s blog can be seen here.  Thank you Jo – I am hoping to bring another class from Jo later in the term.

Spring Simplicity

Aren’t these cards just gorgeous – You can see why I chose them – they have an amazing simplicity but are beautiful to look at and not as easy as they look to make!

Spring Simplicity
Spring Simplicity

The colour combinations here is just delightful and so fresh! So the girls have homework – I am a real task master!  They had to chose one layout from these four and make a card at home using that layout – I will post their results next week – I can’t wait to see what they have made!

What have I been making?  Well – I have been busy thats true but some of it is preparation for future classes so I can’t give it away but I have made my Valentines card for MB!  Its a shock but true….

Liebe, Love, Amour

I have used Cherry Cobbler (Its not just for Christmas!) Basic Black and Very Vanilla card stock. I stamped with En Francais, and the swirls from Creative Elements. The brand new Liebe,Love Amour stamp from the Spring Mini has been stamped in Cherry Cobbler and then layered up and I have given everything a vintage look with Tea Stain from the distressing kit. There is Versa Mark and both Clear and Gold embossing going on there too! |Phew – lots going on!

And finally – I am travelling up to Aberdeen for a Training day this week end. I love training days – it a fabulous opportunity to get together with my stamping pals, have a great meal together and do some crafting!  Oh and we have the odd blether too….as you can imagine!  Its a great time, we make loads of stuff which I will share with you when I get back and will probably become classes at some future point too! and of course it involves swaps! so here is mine. It features the most lovely Charming stamp set from the new Spring Mini.

If you like any of the stamp sets, punches, card stock or ink colours that have been used in any of the items used on my blog today, REMEMBER you can order them directly from me – no matter where you live in the UK, and have them delivered right to your door!  How cool is that? just drop me an email telling me what you would like.

So until next time…don’t forget to stamp your place in the world! xxx

Happy New Year to you all! Wow! hasn’t the time flown over? I cannot believe that Christmas has come and New Year now gone and it’s time to put all those well made good intentions and New Years resolutions into practice.  What were mine?  Ahh that would be telling wouldn’t it! It does most definitely include more card making and paper craft thats for sure! Oh! and it includes starting my Christmas cards in January again, but what I learned from this year is not to make them one at a time but to make them in batches, preferably in fives! So what do I have for you today?

You Are Loved

This is the fabulous You Are Loved stamp set all ready for Valentines day. This set will work any time of the year as well but I made this one ready for MB as I am usually making his card around the 15th of February! I embossed with VersaMark and clear embossing powder and stamped the flowers by inking the stamps with Markers (remember our pens do this remarkably well but Copics and ProMarkers don’t) and stamping them out. I then cut around the image. I used the same stamp to make my background paper, stamping and embossing with VersaMark and clear embossing powder. And yes that is a touch of the rather gorgeous Red Glimmer paper in the background too! Yep, that is available in the Mini!  I cannot wait for you to see all the beautiful new products available to you for a limited time only mind! Don’t forget email me and I will post you out your very own copy of the Mini!

New Stamps...New Designer Series Paper!

So I can’t tell you much about this yet….But…This is a new Stamp set that is coming VERY soon, it’s not in the Mini and you may be able to get it and the lovely new DSP that is peaking right out of the top of the card ABSOLUTELY FREE!  like the sound of that? me too and I can promise you it really is lovely!

This is one of the other Thank You cards I have been making…This is a stamp from the Ideas and Catalogue book 2011/2012, and I have been dying to use this stamp – it is so elegant! It is called Elizabeth and I simply stamped this in Basic Black on to Whisper White, Used Butterflies embosslits with Cherry Cobbler Card Stock and Stamped my sentiment with the same. I think the whole card took less than ten minutes to make including the inside but it makes a really classy and effective Thank You card for sending out. Of Course it would make any occasion depending on your sentiment!

And finally….Yep – the diet is back on starting Monday! I have slipped off the rails after having done so well, I did put a couple of pounds on between November and now but that would be all the pre Christmas Mince pies and cream I scoffed! I really do love them! Back to Paleo from Monday.  My eldest son, who has been home for the holidays is heading away to Val d’Isere on friday for a spot of skiing, so we wish him a safe journey and a happy holiday – we will see him the following weekend when we travel to his University to take all his things back for him – I know he does read this from time to time so have a great time Son – it’s been great having you home and we will miss you!  The Youngest son is back to school tomorrow and ready for it I think – there is only so much time he can spend on the xBox, isn’t there?

Until next time remember to Stamp your place in the world! xxx
