But you can place an order right up until then….by dropping me an email (email@example.com)
So here we are again with another challenge ahead of me…this time it is a Wedding theme! If there is one thing I dont do it is weddings. Weddings and babies!!!! So thats two things….I think it is because my boys are not yet at the age where they or their friends are having babies or getting married. It will come I know but I am savouring it in the meantime. However, I do have a lovely project to share with you for the That Craft Place blog challenge and here it is….
I really enjoyed making this box project – The base box is made out of pearl card stock – its a little bit thicker than normal at 300gsm so make brilliant boxes. I have then used Sahara Sand card stock and seam binding ribbon from Stampin Up, the die cuts and flowers are Joy Crafts Floral flourishes and corner die cuts. The glass vials came from That Craft Place and I filled them with frantage pieces which were also mixed with clear embossing powder to highlight the centre of the butterflies and the flowers. The butterflies were punched out of pearl card stock using a Stampin’ Up butterfly punch. Here are another couple of images….
I hope that you like this project and encourage you to join us for the Wedding theme challenge over at That Craft Place challenge blog. I can’t wait to see what you make for the Wedding Challenge…..See you very soon….X
So we are heading towards the wedding season. I have had quite a few folk ask me to make wedding stationery for them but have had to recommend other people as that is really not my forte I am afraid. I am not restrained enough for the discipline of wedding stationery. What I can do of course is wedding cards and favour boxes etc. Which brings me very nicely to Stampdelicious by Stamp!!!! This month we are concentrating on 3d boxes, feminine wall hangings and a wedding card. These can all be adjusted to make non wedding items but the theme is there for these this time….here we go with the sneak peaks…..
This first is embellishment (or embezzlements as my good friend Moni’s husband calles them!!!) for a favour box and features pearl cardstock, Basic Black and Sahara Sand as well as Sahara sand seem binding ribbon.
This second sneak peak is a delightful project which features the Love and Laughter stamp set – all of these projects have the same colour scheme – but this is so lush and I really think you will love it! and last but not least a fabulous project….
This is a fabulous project that you will want to make again and again – I know I am looking forward to making another – my cousins daughter is getting married later this year and I will be sending one down to her. Such a lovely thing make as well as give as a gift!
Okay so that is your sneak peak for this set of projects – I really do hope that you are going to love them….How do you get them? I am often amazed by people’s attitudes to other’s. It came to my attention recently that a previous customer who now does classes herself was criticising my work and stated that ‘she is not progressing or moving forward’. I found this a strange statement but was prepared to be criticised. So I pondered what this might mean and thought about whether I was actually stagnating. Was I making the same old, same old all the time? No new techniques lately? Well to be fair, I possibly wasnt try new techniques, but I did have a bit on my plate, house move, school move, Christmas, finding a job etc. I then looked at some of the work I have been doing lately, the encouragement I have received from friends like Susan Moffatt, Moni Dominey and Margaret Ann Moffat, being invited onto the design team etc. and the feed back that you girls who read my blogs send me. Whilst some of my work lately is not tearing up any trees in the innovation stakes – it is definitely moving forward. Without Susan’s encouragement I would not have improved my colouring techniques, without Moni and Margaret Ann I would not have set up Stampdelicious by Stamp. So am I moving forward…am I progressing? Most definitely! I dont think my work has ever been crisper and cleaner, fresher or individual than it is right now, and being on the design team means that I have to be on my toes constantly. My work is a reflection of me, there have been turbulent times but I have sailed through them and come out stronger than ever and so has my work – my criticising friend, can you say the same? Your criticism is welcomed with open arms as it made me review where I have been, how far I have come and where I want to go next – Thank you.
So have I been making? YES of course I have…and I ma busy ‘planning’ some gorgeous makes for next week too but while you wait….
This is one of my favourite colours – Bashfull Blue – not a colour I can wear but it is so fresh and clean feeling. This is a CASE of a card from Pinterest, the original design was done by Laura Haffke over at lahdeedahday.blogspot.com. Laura did hers in pink but I really wanted one in blue. Whisper white has been embossed with Delicate Designs and Adorning Accents embossing folders, teamed with Itty Bitty banners and topped off with a crystal facet button with a small circle punch of Bashfull Blue behind it.
As you know I simply adore the More Amour papers!!!! this is another paper from the set and I have teamed it up with the Artisan Embellishments kit – yep!!! everything from the kit including the cardboard for holding the ribbons!!!!
Final card is not Stampin Up but a set of all sorts from my stash – it is a little reserved for my liking but it is what MB asked me to make for his Mum for Mothers Day – a bouquet of flowers…Hope you like it…
Until next time – remember to stamp your place in the world!!! xxx
As you know I have been asked to join a design team over at That Craft Place challenge blog…I hope you don’t mind but I wanted to share with you post for this over at my sister blog: Travelling Colours. here it is….
This is my first ‘That Craft Place’ design team project and I am so excited to have been chosen to be part of the design team. It is a daunting project with so many talented people around and so many different aspects to crafting to be having a go at but here goes …. and I truly hope you like it. Whilst I have made this card specifically for the challenge – which is ANYTHING GOES by the way!!! – I had already spotted this image somewhere else and loved but thought I might have to wait until the winter months came back around to use it. One of my favourite things about crafting is the colouring in – I like lots of different media for this but my current favourite is marker pens…
Card Stock – Stampin’ Up! Whisper White/Pool Party/Midnight Muse
Papers – Prima Firefly
Glitter Card Stock – Stampin’ Up Silver Glimmer Paper
Die Cuts – Memory Box
Image – Mo Manning
Pro markers Pens
So that’s the first project made – have a look over on the That Craft Place challenge blog at all the wonderful and amazing projects the other girls have made and maybe have a go yourself – you never know it could be your project that wins the very next prize!
So till next time – remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx
Grab a coffee or cuppa Girls cos this is a Good News day!!!!
As you know we moved house just before Christmas and obviously because we moved 100 miles away I had to give up my job. To say things have been difficult would be wrong as I think most people are finding things difficult, but it has not been easy. Now, I am pleased to say – I have a new job!!!!! I am going to work in the Civil service (can’t say what exactly but have to sign Non Disclosure thingummy!!!!) I am sooooo pleased. The new job starts later in the month so there may be odd times later on when I am absent….Yes, I know but more absent than I am now.
Next bit of good news!!!! yes…there’s more! I am delighted to tell you that I have been invited and accepted the opportunity to join a Design Team!!!! YaaaaaaY Go Me!!!! this means that I will design a project each month for Lisa Ditzie Horton’s Blog ‘That Craft Place’. See the banner on the side. I am soooo pleased!
What does this mean for Stampdelicious? Well to be fair I think the combination of the job and the design team place means that I have to be much better organised! Obviously my time will be split in different ways to how it is now but when I first embarked upon Stampdelicious I worked full time so essentially it will be about getting some routine going and being better at managing my time – something that we crafters are usually pretty good at! The Stampdelicious by Stamp club will continue however I will be including a few more pics on the blog which are not totally Stampin’ Up!
Now the not so good stuff – oh! yes – there is always not so good stuff. As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator we have to work within rules. This is not a problem. Not to me who generally does not like to break rules. I am not normally known for breaking or bending rules – thats just me – boring. I have never seen much good ever come from it. Last year I very nearly lost my demo-ship because a fellow demo felt it was her place to report me to Stampin’ Up! for something she believed I did which was breaking Stampin’ Up! rules. She was right but what I did was to try and enable me to get away from another demo – her. Now I know that she will now be looking for any other rule breaking that I might do. And taking on this Design Team role could very well contravene the rules again however in order to make sure that no one ever, ever has the chance of making my life as miserable and painful as that demo did, I have already been in touch with Stampin’ Up! compliance team and together we are finding the balance which allows me to do the Design Team for Lisa and stay within Stampin’ Up! rules. Should anyone feel that they have any concerns on this matter, I would ask them to forward their concerns to Catherine Schneider of the Compliance team on the following email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Okay the more fun stuff….the first challenge for ‘That Craft Place’ blog is posted on Sunday so I am busy preparing for that – it does include some Stampin’ Up! products – I would find it difficult to make a project without SU being involved somewhere now.
Right – before I go – here is a little sneak peak of something I am working on right now for a class of Crafters happening at the end of the month: Glasvegas or to give it it’s official title The Tartan Stampers Mini Convention, held in Glasgow. this is the event where 30 or so crafters/demonstrators pitch up at a hotel and bring our crafting kits with us and spend the weekend crafting, chatting and generally having a great time. It’s too late for this one, but you could join us for the next one….Just drop me a line on email@example.com and we can chat about it further…
For my Stampdelicious by Stamp girls – yes we will be doing this project in Aprils kit….
Until next time, remember to stamp your place in the world! XXX
