Flowers a plenty….

Hello there…

Yes back again – and this time the challenge is Flowers – Now, I often pop flowers onto my cards – sometimes made myself but most often made by someone else and bought in packets.   And I love to see flowers, mostly in the garden but occasionally in the house….Now what I didnt know was that you are not allowed to take flowers into hospitals any more which I was pretty surprised at when I wanted to take flowers to my Mother in Law when she had a heart op over in Newcastle.

Here is my solution…..image0282

I made this bouquet by sello-taping some 2p coins round a block of flower oasis. I then placed the oasis into a box I made with cardstock, I was then able to push my paper flower stems into the oasis and know they would not tipple over. The Flowers themselves are a variety of die cut pieces using various K&Co papers – I love K&Co papers, they are always so lush and the colours so pure – I edge every flower with tone on tone ink and a dauber then glittered every one with Glamour dust (A girl can never have too much glamour dust!). The flowers are attached to wooden dowling painted green and have leaves attached and then built up into a bouquet. I finally took sheets of tissue paper and wrapped them round the box and secured with a ribbon – cant see it but it is definitely there!image0283

In this picture you can see the butterfly’s on dowling with bits of card stock which I ran over the edge of a pair of scissors to make the strip curl. My Mum in Law had these flowers at her bedside instead of real ones and I must say they did cheer the room up alot.

I hope you like them and if you fancy having a go your self, the girls over at That Craft Place will help you choose all the elements you need to create your own bouquet…..give them a shout an then enter your creation into our challenge  – I look forward to seeing your entry!

Until next time….remember to stamp your place in the world. xxx

Well Hello……

Hello there Ladies,  Another fabulous day just closing – the weather here in the West has been pretty gorgeous today and I managed to get outside for a few hours before I head back to work tomorrow. I have had a couple of great days off work – went to see Bon Jovi at the Stadium of Light on Thursday just gone – pics below – it was fabulous!!!! It was a birthday treat from MB (birthday was May so no! you didn’t miss it!!!) And was the 3rd time I have seen them – think it was the best as well! IMG_2504wtmk Bon Jovi - Stadium of Light

Then on Saturday my eldest boy came home after having been to Prague for a rugby tour with his University.  Now as a Mum, I like to think I am pretty laid back but….When my boy arrived he looked very odd – big moon pie face, chubby round the middle and the hair……Well, you may recall that we had a hair disaster back in November…and wouldn’t you think that he would have learnt his lesson? OBVIOUSLY NOT! because on this Rugby tour NO RUGBY WAS PLAYED! and there were rules….apparently they had to carry a dummy,  they also wore shirts with a letter from the alphabet on the back – they had to walk in groups which then spelt things out – I won’t tell you what….I will leave it to your imagination!!!! They were only allowed to eat at McDonalds all the time they were there hence the bloating. They carried ‘dog tags’ saying ‘…if I am too drunk to speak please return me to…’ round their necks – pretty sensible you might think….The other big thing was their hair….They all had it cut and/or shaved in the most ridiculous ways….now my boy clearly knew that I would  not be very pleased after his previous hair disaster so was cautious in his instructions to the hairdresser but her did have the sides shaved and then stripes put in…….So we have a large group of boys with close to Neo-Nazi hair cuts, spelling rude words out with their t-shirts, dogs tags round their necks living off McDonalds and as you might have worked out drinking their way round Prague.   I cannot say I am impressed and can only offer my sincere apologies to the people of Prague.  Two days at home eating real food the bloating had gone down and a quick shifty with the hair trimmer soon got rid of those nasty tram lines in his hair – I just wish that you could get rid of the pictures off the internet as easily!!!!
