Sale – a – Bration…..What we made this time….and our next classes

Hello there – yes this is me being a tad more organised and getting my post out on time! there is lots to tell you so I will crack right on…

Sale – a – Bration is rolling on – I cannot believe that we are already half way through this but here are a couple more ideas that will hopefully inspire you and show you what you could be making with your FREEBIE stamps and paper set….I was inspired for this card by a picture frame design by Jenny Moors.Everyday Enchantment I love her work and often buy her tutorials for my groups. In this design, Jenny had made it a framed picture so I changed the colour scheme but still did the central flower using the heart punch. I love how this came out and am peaked with the colours – they have come out bright and vibrant – I will be really sorry to lose these papers and am stock piling them as much as possible!

Elementary Elegance

This one is inspired by a card I saw over on Jenni Pauli’s blog. Again I changed the colours and the layout very slightly but I am always inspired by Jenni and cannot help but CASE her work – I think I would do it in my sleep! This card uses one of the other stamp sets – Elementary Elegance – that are FREE when you spend £45 on anything from either the main catalogue or the current mini or a combination of the two! So many choices….

So what did the girls do this week? Well….they excelled themselves again! I am always amazed by how well they rise to the weekly homework. The homework was to create a card from the sketch of one of the other girls in the group…. here’s how they did….

Tangy Freshness
Crisp Clean lines
Paisley Heaven
Perfect Pearls and SU - perfect combination
Sooooo Cute!

This week was our final week before we take a short break. Our tuesday classes run for six weeks then I get a week off to re group and think up some more things for the girls to do. We usually go out with a bang…one final project which brings all our work together – this is what we made (for those of you who take it, yes this is the screen that was featured in last months Craft Stamper magazine…..)   It is a totally delightful project and I think everyone enjoyed making it!

Do you think you might have enjoyed making this project? We had a great time with it – ours is not perfect but it was much easier to make than we imagined – all credit goes to Linda Elbourne – the designer for Craft Stamper magazine, for  such wonderfully simple instructions. I totally enjoyed teaching this and love my own finished project too.

If you like the look of the projects we make  you could join us for our next project session…we have two coming up!  The first is our Stamp a Stack! – It is on 17th March at Table Table, Phoenix Park, Linwood. The cost is £15 and we will be making around 12 cards with a Spring/Easter theme.

Our next Technique Tornado Day is 24th March at Table Table,  Phoenix Park, Linwood. the cost for this full day is £25 and includes all materials although you are welcome to bring your favourite adhesives with you!

All classes are on a  first come first served basis. You can book either or both of these classes by visiting my blog at www.stampdelicious.com and using the PayPal button over on the right hand side. Once you have done this your place is confirmed.

Fresh Crafting Friends Offer – We all love to craft with friends so if you bring a paying friend who has never been to one of my classes before, I will give you a gift of 6, 6×6 Everyday Enchantment Papers and co-ordinating ribbon set as a thank you for bringing your friend to craft with us. Just book her place over on my blog using the PayPal button and I will have your paper and ribbon set waiting for you on the day!  Wow! Does it get any better than that? Well actually it does…I have a super offer coming up later this week or early next so pop back later and check out what it is….

I think that is about it for today….so till next time remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

I completely missed it….What the Girls Did next…Sale-a-Bration….and my youngest son!

Halloooo there! Yep week three of Sale-a-bration passed me by – it was a terrifically busy week so please accept my apologies and hopefully I will be able to make it up this week with two offerings for ‘what to do with my Sale-a-Bration stamps’!  What made it so busy Lorraine?  Well for a starters it was half term, and Valentines Day and I till had my youngest off not too well – he seems to be struggling to shake this illness that he has had and was in hospital with – one day up next day not so good… mind you his teenage hormones and attitude are definitely making a regular appearance so I guess it is just a slow process!  Oh, and with it being half term – we went away Tuesday to the Lake District. It was lovely to get away and we had a super time staying at the Wild Boar Inn at Crook near Windermere. We have been before so knew what to expect and weren’t disappointed tis time either – I highly recommend it.  What I don’t recommend is picking up the dreaded D & V!  It is definitely something we have picked up as we all ate different things in the various restaurants we visited but one by one we have been afflicted by the dreaded RUNS! My Dad has been worst affected but for me it is feeling so washed out that I don’t cope with – I feel like a badly wrung out cloth!

On to happier things….You may remember my Tuesday Techniques class are half way throughout this session and I thought I would share with you what they had for their last home work – the brief was to make a Christmas  card but using only white with a hint of colour – but only one!  here is how they did….and I am sure you will agree they have done amazingly well!

Love the Glitter red and the embossing folder
The picture doesn't do this justice - the paper is pearlised and lovely
Fabulous Glitter effect on this one
The embossing here is crisp and clean and really stands out
Super use of punch and matting and layering
This is so simple yet so classy
More embossing that is crisp and clean - Well done!
Lovely use of embossing

Didnt they do brilliantly? I can’t way to see this weeks home work – they had to find or create a sketch and then draw it out before making a card using that sketch. Then they had to bring the card and sketch to class with their name on the sketch, we then passed they sketches round for someone else to use their sketch!

Sale-a-Bration – so many of you have placed orders and got your free stamps or paper collection but are then not sure what to do with them afterwards – here are another couple of ideas….the first is using the smallest elements from the Fresh Vintage set to make the very simplest card possible (we cater for all levels of crafting ability here!) – this could be a birthday card, Easter card or even a sympathy card if needed but its simplicity is the let and you could rattle sets off to give as different gift for teachers at the end of term.

Fresh Vintage

The second card is a CASE (copy and share everything) from an Australian girl I follow called Teneale Williams – I completely admire her work and have a tendency to be influenced by her enormously. This is not a complete copy – I changed the sentiment to one from Faith in Nature, and used the lovely Poppy Parade stitched poly ribbon instead of the satin Teneale used. I also used a different punch for my back card stock – I have the large  scalloped square Sizzix cutter and can usually get my head round making a bigger one but when I was making this card I was at beginning to feel unwell and just couldn’t get my head straight! So I cheated and used a Martha Stewart punch!

I love the faux tile effect of this card and this done in blue would give an amazing Delft tile look.

And finally….our trip to the lakes….I placed some lovely pictures last year of our walk and the beautiful Grasmere area. This time I couldn’t resist this picture of my youngest son… We stayed in a lovely hotel and my Dad and my son had a twin room whilst MB and I had a double – our room had a super roll top cast iron bath feature which my son couldn’t wait to try out. This photo is him lounging on our bed after his luxurious bath  using not only our bath but my new bottle of bubble bath! He loved it and this pic really expresses that I think….what do you think?

The youngest son...

Until next time….remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

Whoops – nearly missed it! Week two….Technique Tornado Day….and my excuse!

Whoops! nearly missed week two of Sale a Bration!  Please accept my apologies but I do have a really good excuse – Honest. But before my excuses here is the promised Sale a Bration offering –

Elementary Elegance

This is a lovely spring card with the delightful Elementary Elegance stamp set from the Sale a Bration mini!  Here I have teamed Sahara Sand Card stock with Baja breeze ribbon and ink and So Saffron ink and card stock with a little Whisper White card stock and ink thrown in for good measure!   The stamp sets in the Sale a Bration are so versatile – I have made this a Birthday card but it could so easily be a Mothers Day Card.

We have the first of the Technique Tornado days coming up this weekend – 11th February at Table Table starting at 10.00 am sharp – we have loads to get through! – cost is £25 for the full day and is a technique packed adventure!  This time we are having a spring theme with a nod to Valentines Day and Mothers Day.  If you want to join us I still have two places left and would be delighted to see you!  Use the PayPal link up on the top right hand side and get your place saved – First Come First Served!

So my excuse…unfortunately, my youngest son was rushed into hospital on Wednesday night/Thursday morning with a temperature just short of 104 degrees – for those of you who do metric….it was pretty high! He was admitted from the GP unit at 2.30am and the poor wee soul was allowed to go home to Mum’s care yesterday afternoon. The hospital was able to give me no real idea of what was ailing him but he has come home on two lots of antibiotic and two lots of pain killers which all nod towards severe tonsillitis or strep throat as it was called in my day! I am hoping that it is an isolated event as he is just getting into exams. He is still feeling sorry for himself but is definitely on the mend as he is starting to give me cheek already!

Until next time remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx
