So the girls made some lovely Tags this week in class….

Rolled roses

The tag was a CASE of one I found on Pinterest – I am not sure of the originator so am unable to give appropriate recognition to the creator – if it is you please let me know so I can give you the recognition that is due to you. We made this in class and everyones was slightly different but so lovely. It is a mix of SU product and other stuff I have in my collection – just a lovely combination!   And here is what some of the girls did for their homework….

Butterfly Blue
Spring Yellow Daisies

Aren’t they fresh and lovely? The girls work so hard and their work is just sooooo delicious!

Okay – I think that is it for today….I will be back real soon with the first project made with one of those gorgeous DSP’s….Don’t forget to check out the catalogues and make you choices…so until next time…remember to stamp your place in the world! xxxx

So that was another two and a bit weeks that slipped by me unnoticed!  And boy have I been busy…I have had two classes, an overnight at work (in my ‘other’ job!), prepped for a big class this coming weekend, driven down to Durham and back for my eldest son and his car load of kit and caboodle, made gazillions of cupcakes for my youngest son to sell at school (why have the school not yet picked up on this?), watched my washing machine die today (right in front of my eyes!) and I still have no oven – three weeks without one!  Anyway, down to business, what you really want to know is WHEN is the next class, are there still places and what have the girls been making… Well the next class is the Technique Tornado Day this coming Saturday – 24th March and YES there are a couple of places left. In this class the focus is on techniques rather than finished items, all instructions are given so you can take the project home for finishing. If you would like to join us over at Table Table head over to the right hand side of my blog and sign up – places are first come first served. Don’t be disappointed – book today! What have the girls been making Lorraine, I hear you ask…Well…. here goes… The first card up uses the Every Bunny stamp set and was coloured in with SU water Colour Wonder crayons and a water brush. I was very impressed with the finish these wax and water crayons gave – almost velvety.   This second card is a CASE from the wonderful Valitaover in OZ. I love her three D images and flowers they are truly a work of art.   So what did the girls do for their home work? Ah well there brief was to emboss but it must be used as a focal point rather than a back ground – here is how they did and I am sure you will be as inspired by there creations as I was….

a fabulous fold card
lovely flower, gorgeous background!
Wonderful colours on the stamping here
loving the embossed centre piece
super Christmas images here
wonderfully hand coloured embossed butterfly's

So this weeks techniques included using blending brushes….

Chocolate Mice

Brayering and VersMark with glossy card stock. (apologies for the shabby picture)…

Pink Butterflies

The girls homework was a TIC TAC TOE choice – they had a choice of nine items to chose from and they had to pick three…

ribbon blue glitter
blue ribbon glitter

Weren’t they just gorgeous?

And finally remember that there are places available this Saturday – just book your seat and I will have your class pack waiting for you to make some wonderful projects!

Until next time…remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

And what can you make with your SAB products?

Elementary Elegance, Everyday Enchantment

I made this card using the lovely and versatile Elementary Elegance stamp set, Everyday enchantment papers, Whisper white CS, Early espresso Ink, Poppy Parade Stitched Poly Ribbon. I saw the folded ribbon on a blog somewhere and thought it was  terrific so incorporated as a feature on the SAB example – Hope you like the simplicity of the card.

Next I have a card I made for MB. It was our ten year anniversary last week. MB always remembers, but when he saw my card in the lid of my suitcase he had to confess that he hadn’t bought a card for me….He thought I would forget or be too busy and didn’t want to embarrass me, well thats the tale he told anyway!!!!!   Unfortunately I am not much of a romantic really, I try hard but…so making this card was a stretch for me. Not sure why I struggle because I see pretty lovey cards and love them but struggle to make them myself. Anyway, here is my card.

I was quite pleased with the way this tuned out as the red hearts are glitter card stock sat up on dimensionals – looks better in real life!

At the weekend I headed up to Aberdeen to a crop with some lovely ladies but before I went I baked for my troop who were staying home. On thursday I made around 30 cupcakes for them, all iced and decorated. On friday morning my YS decided to take a couple to school for his mid morning break. When he returned from school just after four he came in with a demand that before I headed to Aberdeen I teach him how to make the cup cake mixture. Naturally I enquired why he need this skill in such a hurry?  “I have orders for a dozen cakes for Monday morning Mum” he tells me. Again I naturally panicked…was he being bullied? he had ‘orders’, was someone demanding his break snacks? No my little (he is six foot one and fourteen!) son had literally taken orders for the cakes and the boys were going to be paying him for them!  I made them Sunday night and Monday he came home from school with a pocket full of money. He handed it over with the enquiry ‘what is my cut then Mum?’  I had to explain to him about the value of reinvestment…..

So until next time…remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx

And finally….It has been one of those weeks. Not my best I can assure you, hence the slow showing of our Sale – a – Bration ideas this week. Cant really put my finger on what is not feeling right for me but having a head cold hasn’t helped me think it through. I have a huge amount to be grateful for, my family are all healthy and busy with their lives, my BH is in a good job and my sons are working towards end of year exams, we certainly have things alot easier than many folks. But still, I have had a couple of down days. Probably the weather which has been pretty miserable so far this year and the lovely spring blooms which generally cheer me up no end have not yet peeked their heads out. So my challenge to myself before my next post is to create some lovely cheering blooms cards to brighten my craft room on these still dark and miserable days! Roll on the brighter weather and look out for those cheering blooms!
So till next time…remember to stamp your place in the world! xxx
